Lesson 4 of 6, about 4 minutes to read

Every fee you pay on a swap

Network fees, rent deposits, pool fees and front-end fees, and which of them you get back.

A swap can carry several costs at once. They come from different places:

  • Network fee: 5,000 lamports (0.000005 SOL) per signature, plus an optional priority fee that helps your transaction land when the network is busy.
  • Rent deposits: the first time you receive a token, a token account is opened for it. The deposit is refunded if you close the empty account later.
  • Pool fees: each pool on the route keeps a small cut of the trade for its liquidity providers. It is built into the quote.
  • Front-end fee: the app you use may add its own fee. It should be shown before you sign.
  • Price impact: not a fee, but a real cost of trading size against a pool.

PINGO's planned fee

Swaps on PINGO carry a 0.5% fee, taken in USDC or SOL inside the swap and shown as its own line before you sign. Paper trading charges a simulated 0.5% so practice results include it.
